The Asaph Ensemble brings their programme of Summer Classics to North Wales for the first time during early August. The group, based in London, has given concerts around the South East, Bursa, Turkey and in Normandy, France. The ensemble consists of Soprano, String Quintet, Organ, Oboe and Trumpet under the direction of David Hooke. The ensemble’s range in its instrumental line up gives scope for great variety in the programme. Works will include Mozart’s Laudate Dominum, which soprano Nicola Hooke performed at the Royal Albert Hall in a debut appearance last year, Pachelbel’s Canon, Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, a Sonata for 2 Organs, a Purcell Trumpet Sonata, an Albinoni Oboe Concerto, as well as some sparkling Baroque battle arias for Soprano, Trumpets and Strings.
