Today children from Ysgol Bro Cernyw in Llangernyw had a special treat when they attended a workshop by
Jonny Duddle a North Wales author and illustrator known for his award-winning books and illustrations for the Harry Potter books.
The children won a competition by creating a bunting of birds made from a recycled plastic bottles in association with Dylan’s Llandudno.
Next time you are in Venue Cymru be sure to look up at the ceilings and you can see the lovely work created by the children.
As well as taking part in a fun workshop and enjoying some delicious cakes, they also received signed copies of Jonny Duddle’s books for their school library.
Jane Evans from Dylan’s Llandudno also talked about the launch of  a new project for the event –  recycling  old umbrellas and announced they are looking for groups and individuals to show off their artistic talents.
The umbrellas will be on display during the weekend event TAKEpART 2020
Further details will be posted on social media and the media in due course.
Having run for the past ten years, this event has grown from strength to strength and is looked forward to by many families who often travel long distances just for the weekend – it’s one of a kind and certainly one one of the most interesting and fun events to be held in Llandudno for young people.
Always a fantastic way to brighten up a dull January – and we hear that next year’s take pART, we hear, is looking to be even bigger and better than ever before – so we’re looking forward to joining in the fun and we’ll see you all there!
