For many years the 70 Rotary Clubs in North Wales and Merseyside (District 1180) have competed by means of a six-round Rotary District Quiz Competition to find out which Club has the brain cells that can best retain the thousands and thousands of nuggets of trivial and useless information that are the staple diet of any respectable quizzer
All too often Rotary Club of Llandudno has fallen woefully short in this endeavour, but this year are pleased to announce that we survived the first round
On Thursday 23rd August, President Clive Hampton and his colleagues at Rotary Club of Rhos on Sea made our club very welcome at their spiritual home of Rhos Fynach and after a splendid meal we got down to the serious business of the quiz
Llandudno Club lagged seriously behind in the first four or five of the 12 rounds but eventually gained ground and managed to pip the host Club to the post by 62 points to 56
“One round down, five to go” seems the right spirit, and so, flushed with success, we await news of our next challenge.
Our grateful thanks to RC of Rhos on Sea for being such hospitable hosts and gallant losers.
