A record turnout in the disability event and two Anglesey golfers winning the chance to play at St Andrew’s in the week of the 150th Open Championship were the highlights of the Wales Golf Festival.

The Wales Golf Festival saw events for all standards of player from disability, new golfers and the elite end of junior golf in Wales.
“Overall this was a great event,” said Wales Golf Championship Co-Ordinator Daniel Fullager.

“We had some great feedback from participants about the course. It was all run really smoothly, and Garnant Park were great hosts who were very receptive to the event.”
Friday saw the Disability Event with a record 29 entries, won by Morgan Jones of St Pierre with 38 points, beating the biggest field in any Wales Golf disability competition.
