Llandudno Rotary helping a part of Africa

The annual “Rotary Walk Across Wales” from Machynlleth to Montgomery takes place on Saturday 18th June.

Four Llandudno Rotarians and friends will be walking part of the route and are seeking sponsorship to raise funds for the Nauyo Community Action Upskill Project.

This project will provide young mothers and children with the skills to make simple products such as necklaces, earrings, bangles, soap and mats which they can sell, to make money for their families.
The project is based in Mbale and the nearby Bumbobi area and is being led by Nauyo Community Action ( @NauyoCommunity ) and the Rotary Club of Mbale (@RotaryMbale1964 )
By sharing skills learnt and through the sale of products the benefit to families is wide ranging from an improved financial situation to improved mental health and well being. A trial has proved successful and this additional support will enable the project to roll out and support more young families.

Sarah Kennedy-Ratcliffe, one of our Members, visited Nauyo Community Action in 2019 and saw first-hand the benefit they are providing in their community. She also met members of Mbale Rotary Club who are overseeing the project

Why not help Rotary to help Nauyo Community Action to help young people to help themselves to a better life? You can be part of this – go to   www.llandudnorotary.org
