George’s 150 miles in 15 days for the 1.5 million NHS staff
If you happen to see local lad George Roberts out running today please give him a wave – he’s not just an ordinary young man out for a bit of exercise – this is a man on a mission!
George is almost half way through a tough challenge which he set himself – to run 150 miles in 15 days to raise money for Aryr Las Gogledd Cymru – our local NHS charity here in North Wales. https://awyrlas.org.uk/
Starting on May 14th George has clocked up an incredible 60 miles so far and has already smashed his target of £150 by so far raising over £430 which will go towards proving life-saving equipment and services.
George has been running from home in Bryn Pydew – Llandudno Junction and around the areas of Deganwy, Llandudno, Penrhyn Bay and Rhos on Sea, and also Gyffin and Conwy – setting off around 2pm each day.
Although things are getting tougher by the George remains upbeat and had this to say ..
” The weather has been really good and I’ve really enjoyed the birds, wildlife and scenery on every run. The whole of the NHS staff have been vital for the nation and even though I couldn’t help on the frontline I felt I could help in another way which is where I came up with the idea of running 150 miles in 15 days for those 1.5 million NHS workers. The target was to raise £150 for my local charity (Awyr Las) but I’ve now reached over £430 which is incredible and I appreciate all of the donations! This is just a gesture and me trying to do my bit but my challenge is easy compared to those working across the country to give every patient the best care. “
If anyone sees him on his journey please give him a wave, we’re sure it will be appreciated!
