A big crowd of local residents turned out for this year’s Craig y Don party in park last Sunday (25th June).
Musical entertainment was provided by Llandudno Youth Music Theatre, Stagenotes, Cassie, Katie Lou and due Judy and Dave.
Local street-dance group Autonomy were particularly popular, showing why they have been selected to compete in California next year.
Children were entertained by a bouncy castle, fun sports, facepainting and a visit from a Minion. They also loved the opportunity to have a go at Croquet thanks to the Craig y Don Croquet club.
All ages had a chance to enter the welly throwing competition, with medals awarded for all age groups.
Local charities had stalls. Agnes Jones from St David’s Hospice commented that it had been the best event they had been to all year with so much support and interest from the local population.
Bryan George did an excellent job as compare (as always). He even managed to get some impromptu dancing at the end of the afternoon, with Dancing Queen from Abba appearing to be particularly popular.
Local businesses with their support, including donations of raffle prizes, including Tommy’s Hair Company, Craig y Don Dental Practice, Bistro Bach, Benards Gallery, Scent with Love flowers, Cakes for All Occasions, Quilting Bee, Coffee V, Caffe Nero, LLandudno Bike Hire, The Imperial Hotel, North Wales Parrot Rescue, Dylan’s Restaurant, Batty’s nursery, Cater Vets, Pets at Home,
Waterstones, The Ham Bone, Parisellas
The event was organised by The Friends of Queens Park Craig y Don. All the volunteers worked very hard before, during and after the event. It was this hard work that made the event such a success. So many people commented about how much fun the afternoon had been and how great it was for the whole community to come together like this.
